Summary

A group of people is assigned to guard 50 strongholds along the 5th Ring Road to prevent monsters from entering Beijing City. The narrator and his brother Xiang choose a location near a park, accompanied by two Hopping Vampires. After being dropped off in a remote area, they are picked up by a white van driven by Qin Da Zhuang, a boastful former actor. They arrive at their assigned location - a small pavilion surrounded by overgrown grass. While Xiang is casual about their defense, the narrator takes a more serious approach, preparing charms and planning a formation to protect the area from potential ghost invasions.
