Summary

The Huang He, the mother river of the Chinese nation, has shaped civilization for thousands of years, bringing both disaster and fertility. Kai Feng Fu, or Bianliang City, has been a prosperous center since the Xia Dynasty, enduring through ten dynasties. Despite its wealth, past cities have been buried beneath the river's silt. In the Wu Dynasty, the city was a blend of ancient and modern, with remnants of its history beneath. As Ning Yi arrives in Bianliang, he prepares to find lodging with his companions, while various nobles express their concern for status and safety. Zhou Pei, from the Chong Wang Fu, inquires about Ning Yi's stay, and he plans to lodge at Fuxiang Inn. After farewells from friends, Ning Yi contemplates his future in the capital amidst the vibrant, rain-soaked streets filled with life and history.
