Chapter 36: The Ancestors' Rules [35]
Summary
Li Mu Xiu and an old man discuss the remarkable talent of eight-year-old Li Hao, who has reached the Zhou Tian realm. In the ancestral hall, Li Mu Xiu kneels before the ancestors, seeking their guidance. Ethereal projections of ancestors appear, acknowledging Li Hao's potential and discussing the family's fortunes. Li Tian Yuan, the first ancestor, presents Li Hao with two oaths: to protect the Li family and defend the Dayu Dynasty. Li Hao grapples with the implications of these oaths, questioning their fairness and his obligations. Despite his talent, he feels burdened by the expectations placed on him as a genius. Ultimately, he hesitates to accept the oaths, prompting disappointment from the ancestral spirits. As they leave the hall, Li Mu Xiu encourages Li Hao to reflect on his choices, while Li Hao finds solace in a chessboard, indicating his desire for freedom.Full content
