Summary

Ye Zi wakes up in her stone house, feeling a sense of normalcy despite the past trauma of her clan's destruction. She has grown accustomed to her surroundings and the presence of the Black Robe priest, Lu Chen, whom she both resents and relies on. As she goes about her day, she senses something unusual but finds nothing amiss. Meanwhile, Lu Chen observes her sensitivity to witchcraft. Huo Yan, the chief of the Black Flame tribe, visits Lu Chen to discuss important matters. They share a casual conversation before Huo Yan expresses his desire for Lu Chen to stay and help the tribe, offering rewards. However, Lu Chen is determined to return north. Huo Yan reveals that he will share the secret of returning but insists that Lu Chen must help the tribe by training new priests first. They agree that only pure-blood warriors from the Black Flame tribe will be considered for this task.
