Chapter 350: Little Village (2). [704]
Summary
Lord Mouse expresses disdain towards Chu Tian for forgetting something important. Crab Claw, believing Chu Tian's words, shows pity for him, recalling villagers with broken skulls from past hunts. Despite this, Crab Claw welcomes Chu Tian as one of them. Chu Tian wraps himself in animal skin, asking Crab Claw for a piece to cover himself. Crab Claw eagerly prepares to go to the Elder for soup, excited about the food after days of hunting. The village buzzes with life as villagers head to the large communal house, where women prepare food amidst a strong smell of blood and animal entrails. As the men gather around the fire pit, they share humorous tales of their hunting mishaps. Chu Tian observes the women and children waiting outside, who shiver in the cold but smile hopefully. The atmosphere shifts when women bring out large clay jars of wine, causing excitement among the men. Crab Claw explains the rarity of wine in their village, noting its high trade value. The Elders then enter, announcing the village's good fortune for the rainy season, with plenty of resources. The men cheer wildly, ready to celebrate and fulfill the Elder's humorous challenge of ensuring the village's future.Full content
