Summary

Yi Di was brought to the Great Lord City of the Ying He Tribe, where he was isolated from outsiders. The Great Lord dispatched envoys to reach out to Yi Di's exiled relatives in the northern region of Yan, where they lived among barbarian tribes. Yi Di's clan included several others, but the Ji clan, now aligned with Dayu, distanced themselves from him. The Ying and Qin clans, also exiled, grew into local powers and supported the Ying He Tribe during its rebellion. The envoys, equipped with diplomatic letters, sought to rally support for Yi Di to reclaim his throne. The Goyu Tribe, historically connected to Yi Di, maintained a cool relationship with the Xia Dynasty but secretly communicated with Yi Di's clan. The Goyu Tribe's Great Lord, dissatisfied with Dayu's cruelty, feigned cooperation while consolidating power, maintaining military readiness despite disbanding their standing army. When the envoy from the Ying He Tribe arrived, he informed the Goyu Great Lord of Yi Di's situation and called for an uprising to restore Yi Di to power, emphasizing the urgency due to the Xia court's weakened position.
