Summary

Xia Qi and the acting chief of the Huai Mountain Clan discussed the need to train a new army to protect Wang Ji before sending troops to search for Emperor Yi. They decided to command nearby tribes to select strong guards to form this new army, which would be integrated into the court's structure. Xia Qi ordered various clans to send troops for training, ensuring they would be ready to defend against the Guandou army. He also appointed Jing Bei Mu as the acting lord of the newly renamed Sha River Clan and directed the remnants of the Ying River Clan to aid in constructing Wang Ji. With over 110,000 troops stationed at Wang Ji, the Xia Clan's defense was tasked with training the new army while the Youqiong Clan's defense pursued Emperor Yi and dealt with rebel forces. A sacrificial ceremony was held for fallen soldiers before the Youqiong Clan's defense set out, with the acting chief reminding them to eliminate the rebels and ascertain Emperor Yi's fate. Meanwhile, the Guandou army hesitated to attack due to logistical issues and awaited support from the Sanmiao lord, who focused on breaking the Xia Clan's forward camp. This allowed Dayu and his son to prepare for a decisive battle against external threats.
