Chapter 34: Negotiation (Part 2). [654]
Summary
Huo Heng expresses joy over Yue Chen's agreement to cancel the New Nia Autonomous Region title and station guilds in the New Nia cosmic zone. Yue Chen is appointed commander of the 35th Fleet but questions the distribution of powers regarding finance, livelihoods, and education, which Huo Heng explains will be managed by various guilds. Yue Chen realizes the implications of the Mars Commercial Alliance's control over New Nia and feels like a "watchdog" rather than having true autonomy. Huo Heng acknowledges the difficulties but promises to negotiate further. The next day, Huo Heng informs Yue Chen that the offices of the New Nia Autonomous Region will be retained, with guilds contributing financially but warns that if they don't profit, Yue Chen will need to subsidize them. Yue Chen appreciates the Huo family's efforts but recognizes the challenges ahead, especially with the Gui Shuang Republic's interest in New Nia. He must manage his crew's feelings about the negotiations while preparing for the establishment of the commercial alliance's presence in New Nia.Full content
