Summary

The chapter describes the journey of the KD Brigade and the Wandering Brigade as they travel through a marshy area to reach the Black Rock energy caves. The atmosphere is initially harmonious, but it deteriorates as they encounter difficulties in the marsh, including deadly moss, corrosive mud, and giant mosquitoes called Toxic Kiss Giant Stingers. The teams lose several warhorses and are forced to lead them on foot, slowing their progress. The KD Brigade's captain, Kevin Lan Te, decides to turn back and attack from the front the next day, but Wang Chong and others from the Wandering Brigade disagree, advocating for a more cautious approach. The disagreement leads to tension and arguments between the two brigades.
