Summary

Fang La's remnant spirit survives in a semi-transparent form amidst flames after his physical body is destroyed. However, he is confronted by the angry spirits of the followers of the Illustrious Deity, many of whom are more powerful than him. Despite being a strong Transcendent, Fang La is overwhelmed and his soul dissipates, allowing the sacred flame to regain some light. Xia Tian, witnessing Fang La's demise, receives a reward for slaying him and realizes the potential of the Sacred Flame Altar, which can harness divine power and transform faith into strength. He contemplates the implications of establishing faith in the Illustrious Deity while considering the risks of attracting attention from powerful deities. As chaos ensues among Fang La's followers, a masked elder attempts to shift blame and curry favor with Xia Tian, but is soon confronted by a member of the Jinyiwei, revealing the elder's past misdeeds. The elder's attempts to escape are thwarted by Zhan Zhao, who uses a sealing technique to render him powerless.
