Summary

Li Su, a young and talented official, felt humiliated and angry after being insulted by Cao Yu, the Governor of Xizhou. Cao Yu's actions and words implied that Li Su's title and position were undeserved and only given to him due to favoritism. Li Su's anger was fueled by the memory of being surrounded and humiliated by four stunning performers during a banquet at the Governor's mansion. He felt powerless and resentful towards Cao Yu, who had deliberately tried to provoke him. Li Su's companions, Wang Zhuang and Zheng Xiao Lou, tried to comfort and support him, but Li Su's anger and frustration only grew as he witnessed the corruption and suffering of the poor locals at the hands of the officials in the city. The situation in the city was dire, with corrupt officials lining their own pockets and neglecting the welfare of the people.
