Summary

Ying Long, the Dragon Ancestor, struggled to find a suitable mate, leading him to seek various fierce beasts to propagate his lineage. His attempts with a python, wolf, sparrow, golden toad, lion, turtle, tiger, and fish resulted in offspring with undesirable traits. Each child faced punishment for failing to meet Ying Long's expectations, from being carved onto swords to standing atop bells and door frames. Ultimately, Ying Long realized that finding a creature embodying intelligence, obedience, and ambition was futile, leaving him disheartened and contemplating humans as his last hope for a worthy successor.
