Summary
In a perilous underground river, the protagonist and a mole flee from a haunting chime, which is revealed to be part of a massive mechanism. After a tense escape, they manage to silence the chime, but the mole is gravely injured. As the protagonist struggles to carry her to safety, they encounter a strange hairy man who mimics their speech. Despite the bizarre situation, the protagonist is relieved to find the mole's condition stabilizing. The protagonist, starving and exhausted, devours a roasted fish offered by the man, who continues to mimic them, leading to a mix of confusion and humor in their dire circumstances.Full content
