Summary

Ye Zi feels a mix of embarrassment and anger towards Chen, the Black Robe priest, but soon experiences relief and a change in perception about him. Memories of her childhood friends' deaths at his hands haunt her, yet she finds comfort in the warmth of animal skin mats as she falls asleep. Meanwhile, Huo Yan's father, Clan Chief Huo Hu, expresses distrust of Chen during a serious discussion with the elders, warning that Chen's actions threaten the tribe's traditions. Huo Yan, however, remains calm and dismisses their concerns. Later, Chen trains the Divine Wood warriors, instilling fear through curses to ensure loyalty, and declares them the "Black Fire Guardians." Huo Yan feels frustrated by his father's shortsightedness and discusses plans for war with Chen, who insists on immediate action against rival tribes. Huo Yan reflects on the harsh realities of their world as he observes a shooting star, symbolizing the impending conflict and change in their lives.
