Summary

The story follows Heng Xing Shang Ren, a professor at Qing Shan Academy, who, along with his students, investigates unusual occurrences in a nearby forest. After injuring a powerful human bear, he is poisoned by a bumblebee. While seeking detoxification, he learns that the bear has fled deeper into the forest. Dong Yi, one of the students, openly admits to seeking bear bile for alchemy. Heng Xing Shang Ren offers him a wounded spirit elk instead, which Dong Yi successfully heals, impressing everyone with his medical skills. They descend the mountain and visit Qing Shan Academy, where Dong Yi earns the respect of the students and competes with them. The academy, established nearly a century ago, has few students. Heng Xing Shang Ren and Dong Yi discuss the vastness of the universe, pondering the existence of heavens beyond and within. Dong Yi spends the night studying in the library, gaining insights, while Heng Xing Shang Ren experiences a breakthrough at dawn.
