Summary

Lin Yi, while waiting for a ride, overhears a heated exchange between a pharmacy owner and a man trying to sell a medicinal herb. Intrigued, Lin Yi examines the herb, realizing it's a rare hundred-year-old Mu Zi Lan. He buys it for a thousand, dismissing the shop owner's claims that it's worthless. Later, Lin Yi discovers his home ransacked but reassures himself of Lin Mu's safety. He learns about a gambling den run by Chen Sheng, which could solve his financial issues for an upcoming herb auction. Lin Yi heads to the east side of the city, entering a shabby mahjong parlor filled with gamblers, where he decides to play high-low betting with five hundred dollars in chips.
