Chapter 32: Night of the Beheading: Southern Mountain Scheme. [34]

Summary

Qi learns of Uncle Nan Shan's plan to usurp the Great King of the Ji Clan and quickly devises a strategy to eliminate him. He sends military orders to troops in Yong Zhou and Yu Zhou to prepare for battle and isolate the Great King from his clan. Under the guise of military drills, troops are instructed to advance towards the capital. Qi also commands the Great King of the Youqiong Clan to lead elite troops to the capital for an inspection, while planning a nighttime assault on the Great King's sleeping quarters. Xia Guan organizes a simultaneous attack with three groups targeting different defenses of the sleeping quarters, aiming to kill the Great King quickly. As midnight approaches, the warriors move stealthily towards their objective. The Great King, unaware of the impending danger, is caught off guard when the attack begins. He attempts to defend himself but ultimately escapes through a hidden trapdoor as chaos ensues around him.
