Summary

Shen Guang, leading his subordinates, executes a plan to seize the North City Gate of Fei County by setting fire to the Ninghai Tavern as a distraction. As chaos ensues, Chen Hai Shi realizes too late that the fire was a signal for the Sui army's attack. Despite his efforts to rally his troops, they are caught off guard by a volley of arrows, leading to heavy casualties. The Sui soldiers, led by Zhang Xuan, breach the city gate and engage in battle with Chen Hai Shi. After a fierce confrontation, Zhang Xuan captures Chen Hai Shi but decides to let him go to avoid further conflict, allowing him to retreat with his remaining forces. The fall of Fei County causes turmoil in Langya County, and Sun Xuan Ya confronts Chen Hai Shi about the loss. In a fit of rage, he orders Chen Hai Shi's execution but ultimately spares his life, punishing him instead with lashes.
