Summary

In the first year of Hongwu, the capital of the State of Chu, now Wuxing, sees a resurgence of activity under the new dynasty. Li Luan, the Lingfei, feels the weight of political tension as Emperor Xu Ting prepares to confront the rebellious Bai Li Xuan Dou of the New Feng army. Xu Ting's transformation after Xu Ren's death worries her, as does the potential alliance between the New Feng forces and the chaotic states of Qi and Liang. Amidst palace intrigue, Li Luan sends a secret message, which leads to her demotion and confinement. As Xu Ting mobilizes an army of 100,000, the Daoists plot revenge against the perceived threats, revealing the deepening conflict between human and demon factions.
