Summary

Little Grandpa Zheng shares a poignant story about his talented son, a master stone carver, and the family's tragic fate after the Wasteland changed. His son and daughter-in-law ventured into the Wasteland, never to return, leaving behind a warning: "Stone Carvers, if you wish to compete with the heavens, you must pay a price." The protagonist, determined to enter the Wasteland despite its dangers, discusses plans with his friend Yuan Hong, who expresses concern but ultimately supports him. After a farewell drink, the protagonist enters the eerie Wasteland, where unnatural silence heightens his anxiety as he searches for a safe resting place.
