Summary

In a fierce battle for Ping Shi County, a massive boulder hurled by catapults crashes onto the city walls, leading to the death of County Captain Xiang Fu, causing panic among the soldiers. As morale plummets, the attacking army, led by Chen Jing Zong, prepares to seize the town. Huang Zi Ping, the county magistrate, resolves to stay and defend but ultimately commits suicide after realizing the futility of resistance. The assistant county magistrate, seeing an opportunity, orchestrates a surrender to the Southern Phoenix Army, presenting the county magistrate's seal and documents to Chen Jing Zong, who rewards him for his defection.
