Chapter 314: The Terrifying City of Bianjing . [314]

Summary

The chapter discusses the efforts of Wang Ning An and others to employ dismissed imperial guards as delivery workers and household service providers in the capital city of Bianjing. Di Qing, a Privy Councilor, helped negotiate with restaurants to hire the guards, while Zhao Zong Jing connected them with noble families. The goal was to not only provide jobs for the guards, but also to stimulate the local economy by having these workers consume goods and services. Wang Ning An envisioned expanding this model to include postal services, household services, and childcare, potentially employing up to 500,000 people and generating significant tax revenue for the court.
