Summary

Zhong Shi Dao has been in Bianjing City for three days, trying to follow up on his missing resignation letter and seeking an audience with the Emperor. Frustrated, he receives a visit from his old friend, Cao Yuan Jun, who informs him about a scandal in the army that has caused internal strife among the higher-ups. Cao advises Zhong to remain silent and not take on his subordinates' responsibilities. The next day, Zhong is summoned to the Wende Hall for questioning by the Emperor. Before his audience, he encounters Grand Chancellor Tong Guan, who emphasizes the importance of responsibility in the military and expresses concern about the potential consequences of Zhong's resignation. Zhong reassures Tong Guan about the capabilities of Li Yan Qing, a promising officer. Finally, Zhong kneels before the Emperor, expressing his respect and loyalty.
