Summary

In a small town, the protagonist and his companion, Yuan Hong, hear rumors of strange occurrences in the Wasteland, including wandering corpses and powerful spirits. Intrigued, the protagonist decides to explore the Wasteland for opportunities to advance his skills as a stone engraver. After preparing for the journey, they arrive at Wasteland Town, where the atmosphere is tense. The protagonist discovers a young boy, Zheng Shu Li, selling seemingly worthless items. After negotiating, he buys the items, intrigued by their origins. Zheng reveals his family's struggles, as he lives with his ill grandfather, who previously searched the Wasteland for treasures.
