Summary

In the prosperous capital of Qi Guo, Qing Zhou Cheng, the once-in-a-decade Immortal Selection draws crowds as families hope for their children to become revered Immortals. This year, the Great King has shifted worship from the Yun Shui Immortal to the Seven Immortal Caves, causing unrest among merchants and nobles. Lu Zhuang, the Left Chancellor, is worried about the political turmoil, especially with his son Lu Guang in the elite Tiger Ben Guards. As the Great King faints, tensions rise with Xin Yang Jun, the King's half-brother, poised to seize power. A confrontation ensues at the palace, where Madam Yunshang, the crown prince's mother, stands against Xin Yang Jun, who threatens rebellion. The scene is set for a clash over the throne and the fate of Qi Guo.
