Chapter 31: The Character of Zha! The Truth Revealed! [30]
Summary
Nian Chao Xi is concerned about Gu Xiu's absence during a critical spirit drawing event, especially since Qin Mo Ran failed to summon the spirit and blamed Gu Xiu for the failure. Nian Chao Xi questions why no one from their sect came to protect Qin Mo Ran, even though they were at a celebration. Despite her suspicions, Qin Mo Ran is adamant that Gu Xiu is responsible for her failure and refuses to explore the underlying reasons. Nian Chao Xi leaves, pondering the oddities of the situation, and later in a talisman class, she learns about the risks of forcibly summoning spirits. This leads her to connect peculiar personalities of high-ranking talisman masters with potential forced spirit summoning. She returns to Qin Mo Ran to investigate further using the Tianji Reincarnation Mirror but suffers a backlash, indicating a protective barrier around the truth. When she finally manages to ask about Gu Xiu, she sees a memory of him expressing his desire to help Qin Mo Ran rather than focusing on talisman training.Full content
