Summary

Zhang Su notices a memorial photo of Lin Mao, the deceased son of the town mayor, Kobayashi Lin Mu Chun. They discuss the mayor's concern about Rina, a woman living off his family's hospitality, who is unable to find work due to her frailty. Zhang Su learns Rina wishes to stay in Gokemachi to witness the defeat of the demons that killed her husband. After some conversation, Zhang Su offers Rina a position at the Anxin Institute, and she eagerly accepts, hoping for a fresh start. The next day, Rina arrives at the shelter, where Zhang Su introduces her to her new role. They begin renovating a shabby classroom together, and Rina impresses Zhang Su with her dedication to making the space clean and welcoming for the children.
