Li Ke: I Just Want to Be a General.

Chapter 31: Reinforcements. [31]

Summary

Li Ke believed he discovered the truth and sought recognition from three individuals regarding the characters "become" and "Inherited." While two understood one character, the third was confused. The common folk, often thought illiterate, had some knowledge of characters. Li Jing, realizing the urgency, rushed to inform the emperor after tearing the paper. The three men hesitated to guide the Tang army due to fear for their families held by ruthless bandits. Li Jing proposed rescuing their families first, which they agreed to. Despite confirming their families' tragic fates, they pleaded for vengeance against the bandits. With new armor and provisions, Li Jing prepared for battle, while the three farmers marked bandit locations on a sand table, strategizing for an attack.
