Summary

In a harsh, cold environment, Zhang Bai Ren waits, frustrated with the Great Sui nobles for their foolishness. As he prepares for an ambush, Wei cavalrymen, fearing the Turks, unwittingly approach him. A confrontation ensues when Zhang demands the release of a person from their carriage. After a swift battle, Zhang demonstrates his superior swordsmanship, killing the lieutenant and general. Despite the odds, he stands firm against the remaining soldiers, asserting that he fights for the dignity of the Han people, not for the Sui Dynasty. The chapter ends with a hint of his resolve to protect the person in the carriage.
