Summary

In Da Huai Shu Lane, a mysterious mansion linked to a deceased official stands with its gate tightly shut. One night, Zhao Yuan, the military registrar, visits the mansion to discuss a failed plan involving an escape from the Xixia. He meets a man who expresses disappointment over the failure and emphasizes the importance of following the Taiwei's intentions. They agree to maintain communication with the Xixia for future cooperation. Meanwhile, in a military camp, Li Yan Qing learns from Yang Zai Xing about Zhao Yuan's visit to the mansion. Li Yan Qing suspects a plot against him, possibly involving Liu Qi and Liu Yan Qing, and identifies Zhao Yuan as a significant threat. Zhong Shi Dao, concerned about Zhao Yuan's loyalty, resolves to act within two days to address the danger.
