Summary

Wang Gui and Li Yan Qing are pursued by the Xixia army after a skirmish, realizing they must reach Wulong Village to escape. They spot reinforcements approaching, but Li Yan Qing senses the Xixia cavalry is close behind. He orders an ambush, and the Song army successfully traps and annihilates the 100 Xixia cavalry, capturing additional warhorses. Sun Qing rewards Wang Gui for his bravery, promoting him and offering silver to share with his men. Despite their victory, Li Yan Qing reflects on the losses suffered and suspects Zhao Yuan's involvement in the ambush. Upon returning to Wulong Village, he prepares to leave for Taiyuan, aware of the dangers in the area. At a farewell banquet, Wang Gui warns Li Yan Qing about the political complexities within the Northwest Army and the influence of powerful figures, suggesting that the situation may be more complicated than it seems.
