Summary

Xu Liao is impressed by Ren Ling Xuan, a cunning little fox from the Ren family who has inherited the celestial fox's legacy. Despite their banter about the nature of reality, Xu Liao holds authority in the Eastern Emperor's Palace and can easily remove her from the celestial fox clan's inheritance light egg. In a private room, Ren Ling Xuan breaks through to the Da Yan warrior level, a rare opportunity granted by the inheritance light egg. Xu Liao reflects on his feelings for her, realizing he doesn't want to let her go. Ren Ling Xuan expresses gratitude for the chance to break through, but acknowledges her limitations in cultivation. Xu Liao proposes she join the Yu Ding Sect as his sixth disciple, to which she agrees, provided she can maintain her ties to the Dong Xuan Immortal Sect. After their conversation, Ren Ling Xuan departs, and Xu Liao learns from his friends that Xia Da is in trouble, needing to discuss something life-threatening. Xia Da reveals he wants to become a monster, prompting Xu Liao to consider helping him despite his reluctance to get involved with Se Nuo and the Dark Court.
