Summary

Shi Mu expresses affection for a purple longbow gifted by Feng Li and practices archery throughout the day, impressing the manor's servants. That evening, he discusses his upcoming departure to the border states with Zhong Xiu and Maide, offering Zhong Xiu two options for her future. Despite her desire to stay with him, Shi Mu refuses, citing the dangers of the border areas. The next morning, Shi Mu learns that Jin Tian, the troublesome young master of the Jin family, is trampling their fields on horseback. Angered by this, Shi Mu confronts Jin Tian and his companions in the field. After a brief altercation, Jin Tian, uninjured and in armor, threatens Shi Mu with a drawn sword.
