Summary

A group of nine friends, led by Kim Hee-sun, climb an unnamed mountain near Chungking and Sichuan to visit her ill grandfather. After a long, exhausting journey, they reach a dilapidated temple with a sinister stone monkey statue. Kim Hee-sun tells a chilling story about demon monkeys that sacrifice young victims. During the night, the narrator wakes to find a window mysteriously open and spots a small, black monkey with glowing red eyes watching the group. Deciding to confront the creature, he steps outside, prepared with protective talismans, and waits in a forest clearing for the monkey to approach.
