Summary

Song Mu Yan is mistreated by villagers but feels no physical pain, only an overwhelming emotional anguish. She is rescued by Ruan Nan Chen, whom she recognizes as her husband, but he does not recognize her in her disheveled state. Despite her attempts to reach him, he leaves abruptly due to urgent news. Villagers, initially submissive, turn aggressive, attempting to rob her after he departs. When they discover her gruesome wound, they flee in terror, believing her to be dead. Alone and desperate, Song Mu Yan resolves to find Ruan Nan Chen, driven by the hope of protecting her child, but collapses as she clings to a lifeless chicken.
