Chapter 3: Rahman's Old Wolf Skin. [387]

Summary

Rahman, a seasoned desert hunter, enters Fragrant Valley with skepticism about its promises of prosperity. Despite his doubts, the valley's wealth and the warriors' indifference to his wolf pelts offer hope. However, Kassel informs him that his pelts must be burned to prevent disease. Rahman reluctantly agrees, but when his pelts are set ablaze, he rescues them, only to be promised better equipment if he proves his worth. Encouraged by an older warrior, Rahman is assured of receiving a bow if his skills are as impressive as claimed. This promise reignites his ambition to regain his status as a warrior. As he bathes and dons new clothes, Rahman feels a mix of hope and anticipation for the opportunities in Fragrant Valley.
