Summary

Despite skepticism about his intentions, Du Yu's reputation as a talented poet garners sympathy. Jia Fu’s masters are furious at the disruption and order his capture. However, Du Yu, invoking the privileges of scholars, skillfully intimidates Jia Fu's servants into submission. Laughter erupts from the crowd, revealing the public's disdain for Jia Fu's tyranny. The Governor of Jinling, summoned by Jia Lian, arrives, but Du Yu faces a new challenge as the officers charge him, highlighting the tension between authority and individual rights.
