Chapter 295: Dancing with the Drunken Spear. [302]
Summary

When Li Shi Min ordered the caning of the aged minister Wei Zheng, Niu Jin Da stood up and criticized the emperor's actions. This led to Niu Jin Da's dismissal and expulsion from the palace, where he was stripped of his official robes and beaten with a stick. The news of his dismissal spread throughout Chang'an, and Li Su was shocked by Li Shi Min's actions. Li Su visited the Niu estate, but was initially refused entry by the doorman. He eventually forced his way in and met with Niu Jin Da, who was practicing his spear-wielding skills. Li Shi Min's actions were seen as a sign of his growing arrogance and narrow-mindedness. He had ordered the construction of the Daming Palace, a project that was met with opposition from his officials. The emperor's relationship with his officials had become strained, and Li Su was concerned about the impact of the Shocking Thunder on Li Shi Min's behavior.Full content
