Chapter 294: Great Confucian Scholar (3/5). [295]
Summary
Tang Emperor Li Yuan meets Zhou Yang, who claims to have medicinal pills that can prolong one's life. Zhou Yang offers to trade these pills, but reveals that he knows the Emperor is searching for the Elixir of Immortality. The Emperor is surprised and tries to compose himself. He warns Zhou Yang that emperors who cultivate the Tao and prolong their lifespan will be punished by Heaven and die an unnatural death. Zhou Yang offers to sell the Emperor the Elixir of Immortality, but only if he leaves the world. The Emperor is intrigued and asks if Zhou Yang's school has connections to Buddhism. Zhou Yang denies this, but offers to sell the Emperor Buddhist martial arts manuals and ritual artifacts. The Emperor is amazed by the goods Zhou Yang displays, including technological items from another world. Meanwhile, the Crown Prince and the Qin King request an audience with the Emperor, claiming to have found great Confucians who can trigger the cultural spirit of the world.Full content
