Summary

In an ancient tomb, two companions - the narrator and Wu Zhi Cong - find themselves trapped in a dangerous snake pit after another explorer, Wang Gang, has already died. The chamber is filled with snake skins, creating an ominous atmosphere. They discover a potential escape route - a square opening 4 meters high - but neither wants to risk being left behind. Facing a potential mutual demise, they contemplate various survival strategies. Ultimately, the narrator decides to attempt a desperate measure by using a 'Summoning Charm for Divine Generals' on Wang Gang's corpse, hoping to create a way out of their life-threatening situation.
