Chapter 29: Zu Yan. [30]

Summary

Ai Hui was in a fierce battle with his opponent, who was later revealed to be Zu Yan, a master from Fengjian City. Zu Yan was known for his mastery of the "Fire Web Heaven Spider Transformation" technique, a rare and exceptional skill that had been perfected by the Zu family over generations. The battle began with Ai Hui rolling to the side to avoid a blast of flame from his opponent. He then charged towards Zu Yan, who was skilled in long-range attacks. Ai Hui's only hope of winning was to get close to his opponent. Zu Yan, feeling a natural sense of tension when faced with a close-range attack, made a strange movement, flipping his hands upside down and pointing his feet towards the sky. This movement was followed by a dark red thread of flame spreading throughout the arena, which was recognized by the crowd as the "Fire Web Heaven Spider Transformation" technique. The crowd erupted into a frenzy, and the arena staff were overjoyed to have a master like Zu Yan appear in their arena. Ai Hui's attack was fast, but Zu Yan's reaction was just as quick, and he countered with a leg infused with Damage, which clashed with Ai Hui's fist. The explosion sent sparks flying everywhere, and Ai Hui was sent flying backwards. Zu Yan stumbled back before regaining his balance. Lou Lan, Ai Hui's friend, rushed to his side and found that Ai Hui's right arm was fractured. Lou Lan felt guilty for not being able to help Ai Hui and suggested that they should surrender, which caused the crowd to burst into laughter. The people outside the arena couldn't help but tease Lou Lan for being a disloyal Sand Puppet. Zu Yan, still pondering Ai Hui's identity, was left wondering who his opponent was and how he had managed to land a purely physical blow without using any Damage. The battle may be over, but the mystery surrounding Ai Hui's identity had only just begun.
