Judgment of Dayu.
Chapter 286: "Winds and Clouds of Power: The Secret Case of the Heavenly Officials". [288]
Summary
Xia Qi, following Tai Shi's proposal, initiated research on fiefdoms and feudal lords in court. After dismissing the court, he reported to Dayu about accusations against the Xia Guan Bing Ma Si government. Dayu warned that if the acting governor disclosed Xia Qi's discussions, it could harm Xia Qi's position. To prevent this, Dayu suggested eliminating the acting governor under the guise of treason. Xia Qi ordered his guards to kill the acting governor upon his arrival. The acting governor, feeling wronged, sought an audience with Xia Qi but was misled about his whereabouts. After returning to his government, he refused requests from governors for personnel. He was later summoned back to the Grand Minister's residence, where he was ambushed and killed by Xia Qi's guards. Following the assassination, Xia Qi reported the acting governor's treason to the court and initiated an investigation into the abandonment of vulnerable individuals, ultimately leading to a trial against the acting governor's actions.Full content
