Summary

Zhang Yuan arrives in the city of Billy in the cursed kingdom through a portal. He is greeted by a moat of molten lava and a black stone bridge leading to a towering city wall. The city is filled with demons and has a dark red hue, but its architecture and technology are similar to those of the Great Xia Empire. Zhang Yuan is halted by two demon guards who speak in the demon tongue, which he can barely understand but not speak. A beautiful demoness named Pa Sha intervenes, using her magic to calm the guards and allowing Zhang Yuan to enter the city. She leads him to a hidden temple, where he meets a powerful old demon named York, who is a Grand Sorcerer and a follower of the God of Joy. York recognizes Zhang Yuan as the divine envoy sent by the God of Joy and asks for his help in destroying the current kingdom and establishing a land of joy in the Abyss. Zhang Yuan accepts the quest, which is revealed to be the Mythical Quest 'Demon King.' The objective is to kill the Duke-level demon Billy and help York become the Duke of demons.
