Summary

Ning Ping An confronts two Daoists who he believes are tarnishing Daoism's reputation. After a fierce exchange, he easily defeats them, shocking the gathered crowd. The Daoists claim their failure in a ghost marriage ceremony could bring disaster, inciting anger among the onlookers. Ning Ping An, dismissing their beliefs, leaves but not before vowing to address the issue with the county magistrate. His anger stems from the misuse of his teacher's scripture by the Daoists, leading him to seek out the magistrate in Jin County, where he learns of the disturbance to the ghost marriage and the humiliation faced by the invited immortal master.
