Summary

In the Xi Liang Mountain Range, Yi Yuan inquires about a map, which a woman reluctantly provides, revealing a simplified version of the continent. Yi Yuan, familiar with its outer contour, contemplates its significance. He learns of a martial arts competition in Xi Liang Guo to find a suitor for the ruler's daughter but is more interested in gathering information in the Royal Capital. Lacking transportation, he walks towards a small village, where he finds no horses for sale but is directed to a nearby county town. Upon arrival, he discovers the horse-selling place is closed and he has no currency. A crowd gathers around an old man selling a jade Buddha, leading to a confrontation with a monk who accuses the elder of theft.
