Summary

Shi Mu and his companions, members of the Mingyue Sect, arrive at Quyang City after a long journey. The city, once grand, shows signs of decay, but is still bustling with activity. Upon entering, they encounter rigorous security checks at the city gate, which have increased since Yu Yi's last visit. Hou Sai Lei, disguised as a middle-aged man, leads the group through the gate with a black jade tablet that grants them passage. Inside Quyang City, the group splits into two districts; the western district, home to the Mingyue Sect's base, and the eastern district, a commercial area. After arriving at their stronghold, they meet a gray-robed steward who guides them to accommodations. Hou Sai Lei, feeling relieved after completing his task, meets with a powerful elder in the sect, who dismisses him after receiving the jade tablet. Once outside, Hou Sai Lei changes his appearance and heads to a secluded alley, where he encounters Cai Er, a parrot sent by Shi Mu. Cai Er informs him to find an inn and stay cautious during the upcoming sea competition. Hou Sai Lei agrees and leaves the alley to find a place to stay.
