Chapter 27: Wind and Dust Struggles. [27]

Summary

In a tavern, Old Ma questions Lu Chen about a potential opportunity to join the Kunlun Sect. Lu Chen speculates that Hong Chuan, a disciple from Kunlun, might have connections that could help him, despite being only a Qi Refining disciple. Old Ma expresses frustration over the favoritism in such sects, lamenting that talented individuals without connections are overlooked. Lu Chen, resigned to his mortal life after suffering from the 'Dark Flame Curse,' decides against pursuing the opportunity. Meanwhile, Ding Dang, a village girl, dreams of gaining favor from immortals and dismisses the men in her village. She spots Lu Chen but feels slighted when he ignores her greeting. Her attention quickly shifts to Li Gongzi, a handsome man across the creek, as she rushes to him, forgetting her annoyance with Lu Chen.
