Summary

Deng Yu feels unclean and is confronted by Zhi Mu Tong, who accuses him of wrongdoing. Despite the tension, Deng Yu maintains his arrogance, insisting he owns up to his actions. Wang Yan, another character, reveals that her brothers are trapped in Xiahe Village, prompting Deng Yu to seek out Du Wen Sheng. Inside a lavish courtyard, they discuss the opulence surrounding them amidst a crisis. Du Wen Sheng, who appears unwell, reveals he is collecting evidence against corrupt officials. As they plan to escape, Deng Yu learns he is cursed to die within seven days, realizing the gravity of his situation and the danger they all face.
