Summary

Mei Lun joins Sora and others at the orchard gate, where they are shocked to see a little red dog in his cage, believed to be a cursed pet dog. Sora and a senior accuse Mei Lun of stealing it, but he insists it was a gift from Uncle Jia Nuo. After some tension, Mei Lun returns to his room, where he examines the dog and discovers its true nature as a creature polluted by a powerful existence, causing it to be labeled as a "World's Enemy." He decides to help the dog, named Gorefiend, and feeds it, forming a bond. Later, Mei Lun returns to the academy with the little red dog, now named Hong Lian. He reflects on the earlier confrontation with Sora and the seniors, realizing they are not on the same path. The chapter ends with Mei Lun preparing for another day, ready to continue his journey with Hong Lian.
