Summary

An Zheng returns to Fang Gu City after being sent back by Shao Bai. He falls from a chariot, creating a large pit in the street, and compensates vendors for their losses before slipping away to Tian Qi Sect. There, he discusses recent events and treasures with his companions. An Zheng learns from a eunuch that the Great King wishes to see him regarding An Cheng Li's disappearance. He suspects that Mu Chang Yan may be under the Empress Dowager's control. Upon meeting Mu Chang Yan, he notices a change in her demeanor and realizes she is becoming increasingly isolated. She instructs him to bring Qi Dao to her, indicating a shift in her plans.
